First, and foremost, let the record show that I am not a TL-CYJ Center dropout. I'm still completely on the wagon.
As a matter of fact, I was just minding my own business, doing my daily account check when I saw it. I blinked once... twice, then a whole bunch more times. BoA auto-CLI'd me! They bumped me up 2k, bringing my credit line to 7k.
BoA, oh how I love thee, let me count the ways... 2k, 5k, 7k! Just the kind of rewards that I need to keep motivated at credit gardening. Auto CLIs are way more fun that apping.
For anyone who's interested, this card started out as fully secured at 2k three years ago. It unsecured after 9 months, and my deposit was returned. My credit was still laughable, at that point, so I did not earn a CLI. My credit limit stayed at 2k until 2008 when I cleaned up my credit (and still working on a couple of things). I asked BoA for a CLI in October, and they granted it to 5k. Suddenly, in November, a real LUV button appeared on my account page online. I didn't press it. I didn't want it to turn into a CLD button. I run about 2k through it per month. The card's bday was this month, so I guess it was a gift.
Yay!
Yay!!!
super congrats on the nice increase and progress that brought it you
How long did your luv button stay before you noticed the auto CLI?
I have never requested a CLI with BofA but I receive one every year! I went from $2500 to $5000 to $10,500! My other BofA was $5000 but I was CLD about 6 months ago to $4200. After reading your post, I looked at both cards online and noticed that "request a credit limit increase" is showing on both cards in the balance summary (below the temporary authorization rounded). I didn't click it because I would rather get the auto CLI but oh, the temptation. LOL.
Congrats on your new CLI. May you have many, many more.
Super Congrats on the auto-CLI, LilMirth!!!
Those birthday auto-CLI's are pretty sweet, aren't they??!!
Before you know it, your credit limit will grow to 10k.
From what I hear, that's when really good things start to
happen. Anyone else who soft pulls your CR and sees a
10K limit will be enticed to grant you the same..as long as
you keep up your gardening.
Once again, Congrats on the CLI. Enjoy!!!!

Thanks!
The CLI button popped up at the end of November. I noticed the CLI this morning. The LUV button is still there, too. Fortunately, I'm a recovering Appaholic, and feel no need to test the depths of BoAs love by pushing that button... Okay, I'm lying. I'm not that recovered yet. I fantasized about pushing it. I looked at it every single day. I WANT to push it, even now, but I'm NOT going to, because I figure that the only thing I'd really be pushing is my luck!
I'd say that if you've been getting auto CLIs, every year that you should hold off on the luv button and see what they give you first. Boy do I agree with you about the temptation though... You can have the seat next to mine. I'll be the one in the garden, sitting on her hands.

Congrat Lil, treat it well.
I will be a little devilish right now and say push the luv button. If it says no then ok you are still happy with your auto cli, but if it says yes, wow. I would go for 10k only as your total CL, so go for a 3k increase. Lets us know if you do it and what was the outcome.

My apologies. In all my excitement, I didn't see this in your OP.
