Hello All,
I recently got off the phone to request an APR reduction on my BoA credit cards, and I was told that the rate I was given upon approval would be the rate that the card stays at. I know that people frequently get APR reductions on their BoA cards, so is there a special number that people call to do that? I called 1.888.888.RWDS (to enroll in their Preferred Rewards program), and the CSR I had was the one to tell me that they don't do APR reductions. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
Try 800-770-6459 or 800-421-2110. Found them in the Backdoor thread listed as Rate Reduction numbers, good luck and let us know how it goes!
+1 I used the Rate Reduction number in the Backdoor thread.
Has card been open for a while? Might need to season the card(s) with some more age.

The BBR has been open since December 2013, and the Cash Rewards card has been open since February 2014. Should I wait a while before I ask?

They will consider it every 6 months.
I just got off the phone with BoA asking for an APR reduction, and to my surprise, they offered the lowest APR they advertise on both my BBR and Cash Rewards credit cards! I am now at 11.99% on my Better Balance Rewards card, and 12.99% on my Cash Rewards card! I was floored when they offered those to me. BoA is officially one of my favorite cards, with a low APR, and the fact that I get the "Preferred Rewards" bonus, these are now some of my best cards. I am still in shock over how well that call went. Thanks for the info everyone.
That's a great drop on the APR!!!
