So I logged into my BoA Student Platinum Plus and saw the luv button finally. I have had this card since 6/2007 and never gotten an increase. Stuck at $500 CL.
Since, getting my higher limit cards I have been wanting to ditch it. Low CL, mediocre APR (17.99), and no rewards, it really serves no purpose. But its my oldest TL, so I would like to keep it open as long as possible.
I know BoA does soft pull for CLI's so I went for it. Clicked it, entered income info, "You will get a letter in 5-7 day" message.
Are online CLI requests with BoA usually instant or do they require processing?
I clicked CLI button for my BofA Accelerated Rewards Amex and it didn't give me instant decision. It told me to call for instant decision. I didn't. Two day days, they moved 5K from other account to my Amex. By the way, some people got account closure or CLD by clicking CLI button in the past.
Ron.
Three points here:
1. BofA CLI requests are ALWAYS soft pulls, (like Amex, a nice benefit)
2. The Platinum Plus Student Card is trapped at low credit limits, $500/$700
3. Do what I did, call them and ask them to convert it to the BankAmericard Cash Rewards (they love giving this card). From here, request CLI and your request shall be granted.
I hit the BOA luv button two months ago and got the message that I should call their 800 number about it. I decided to just forget it but next morning they called me to speak about it. I asked for a 2k increase on my CL. The CSR asked why I needed it (This reminded my of a job interview where they ask what the last book was that you read) and I fumbled around for an uncovincing answer but they approved.
@smc733 Thanks for that advice. I just called and PC'd to the BankAmericard Power Rewards Signature Visa (Cash Rewards wasn't available for me). Rep said once I get my new card, I can request a CLI!
Thanks to everybody else too!
