Anyone else get one in the mail recently? Are these legit?
I use to have BoA checking & savings accounts, but several years ago when they were screwing everyone over with fee's, etc. I pulled my money out, and took it else where. I still have a mortgage & (recently opened) a CC as well. The other day I received a check stating it was my settlement payment for the BoA class action lawsuit for OD fee's, etc. I don't mind having a "free" check to cash, but I don't want to try to do something and it somehow signs me up for something, or gives my accnt. info out, etc.
Just not sure I want to cash it or shred it. There's no "fine print" just explains that I need to cash immediately.
thanks,

ALSO, my new BoA Americard I was approved for a few weeks ago and requested to be upgraded to the cash rewards platinum plus MC has now been changed, and I'm just waiting on my new card to come in the mail.
From what I have read the checks are good so don't shred
I got $322 from CharterOne. Lovin' it!
I got a notice in the mail about an overdraft settlement with US Bank. No check yet.
I got one of these. It was the size of a postcard.
Sign the back and use your favorite mobile deposit app to deposit it. Worked for me. I think mine was like 8 bucks.
I got one yesterday and it freaked me out when I saw my ex's name on the envelope. It is for $72 but I'm wondering if I will have a problem cashing it since both of our names are on it - it says "Positive ID Required" on the back of it. We split up about 7 years ago and I haven't got a clue on where he would be now. Plus, I don't want to share the check...lol.

It depends, does it say OR, or does it say AND. Typically if it says AND then he needs to sign it to be valid, but if it says OR, then it is fair game.

I was in the same situation when I received one with with both mine and my ex's name on it. It was an "and," so they were unable to cash it in the bank. I just walked outside and put it in the ATM. No issue there.
Thanks for all the comments....guess I'll go ahead and deposit it.
