Re: BoA PreApps

SUCCESS!!!

Okay, so I'm impatient.

I stayed on the line while the guy went through my report.  He brought up my student loans from 2001 that went nuts.  (They list as 13 accts each with 1x120 day and 1x90 day late on my report.)

I ended up getting approved for 2k w/ the 9.9 standard APR and 0% BT/Cash Adv for 12 months.  There's a 1% fee for foreign transactions as opposed to the common 3%.  There is a $50 statement credit.

He noted that I sounded disappointed in my CL, however he told me after a few months of STRONG payments on the accts that my CL will be raised automatically.  I told him the purpose of this card was to replace my regular Amex -- I'm absolutely thrilled!

Thanks again for the support!

Thanks Stef - it's all your fault!  Smiley Happy

Well at least I gave you a little more fodder for your theory on higher CLs - mine was actually lower!  I love the idea of this card growing tho.  I have a feeling this card and the Disc More will be the two that get used!

I'm totally doing the happy dance!  It makes my dogs crazy!

YAYYYYYYYYYY Peas!!!!! WTG Super Congrats! I'm thrilled with you. Smiley Happy

Doin' the happy dance for you!

That's wonderful.

And what he said afterwards(dectecting a disappointed tone), I think is fab. He really didn't have to say that, but gave you words of encouragement. Smiley Happy

Oh yeah, I was totally 'flirty peas' at that point.  We had a nice chat before he checked the report.  He came back with a more serious tone; however, I knew I was grasping at straws considering my app was only about 15 minutes old!  I just think it's cool that they gave me the opportunity to explain the old lates - like an instant recon.

Congrats Peas on your new card! Smiley Happy

I app'd for this same card a few weeks back (late on a Friday night after the two glasses of wine relaxed my NO-APP attitude! Smiley Wink ). I also received the 30 day message - and I was soooo bummed that I couldn't talk with anyone until Monday morning. After the loooong weekend wait, I called and they told me that I was approved. Super nice guy, wonderful customer service. I received my card last week and am really happy with it.

This morning I received a follow up call from BofA - wanting to make sure that I'm happy with my terms and offering to answer any questions that I may have. The gentleman was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful - I don't think I've ever received a call like this when I have opened an account. I'm very impressed with them - I hope your experience with them is as good as mine! Smiley Happy

Thanks Tonsers - that's awesome to hear!  And a BIG congrats on your card!  Did you do the pre-app?  If so, how different was the CL from what it first reported?

On a somewhat side note, I will be added to a 25k BoA card in the next week or so.  I even called to find out if I had already been added, thinking THAT might have something to do with the offers.  The answer was NO.  So I REALLY got this card on my own, except for a little divine intervention.  (Or is that intervention from the other end of the spectrum?)

I'm thinking I don't NEED a Citi card now - LOL - but I'm guessing I'll get a few pieces of snail mail from them in the coming months.

Oh well, I'm going to bask in the post-apping glow for awhile.  Sated for at least a few months...
