Re: BoA - Request a CLI - HP or SP?

Okay - so ... given that it's gonna be a hard pull ... thoughts as to which bureau(s) (in VA)?

Re: BoA - Request a CLI - HP or SP?

BoA CLI requests are almost exclusively TU HPs, unless they have pulled an EX report for you within the past 30 days (i.e. for a new card app) or a TU pull in the past 30 days (I am the king of stacked CLI requests every few months LOL).

Curious question about that. Do they even allow CLI requests from recent/new approvals?

Re: BoA - Request a CLI - HP or SP?

Hmmm, I'm not sure.  The earliest I've asked is on my BankAmericard.  Opened in late November and the blue link came up in early February - probably 10 weeks.  I believe that one was from $12,000 to $21,600 but I had also just received a big jump on my Travel Rewards (I'd have to pull up my buried BoA thread in approvals to get exact numbers and timelines).  It is insane to think that in 14 months I went from $8,100 exposure with BoA to $99,900 (+a pending request).  Certainly no $500s with BoA.

Edit: I think that was the question you were asking, but if you were asking if they reused HPs from apps for CLI requests within 30 days, oh yeah they do!  That was my previous round after they took $21k from my Travel Rewards to open my Premium Rewards!

So it's looking like a 3 month CLI schedule unless the website has the link appear earlier, right?

Re: BoA - Request a CLI - HP or SP?

While I have seen the link pop up slightly earlier, it seems to be that the link usually disappears a day or two after receiving a CLI then comes back around 12 weeks later.  I (of all people) should have loads of data points to give exact timelines - disappointed in myself.  LOL

Considering the info you've provided already I think you can be forgiven. Smiley LOL

Yes, BoA apps are good for 30 days. They will give you the standard "we need to pull credit disclosure;" however, they end up using the one on file. I applied for a new card and the next day did a CLI with the same pull.

Just to make sure there's no confusion here for example can a brand new BofA customer who was just approved for a credit card can they request a CLI off the gate? I don't plan on doing that myself but was genuinely curious.

I would call a credit analyst to ask for a larger limit; they should be using your same application as long as it's within 30 days. To clarify, my CLI was for another card I have with BoA but they used my app from the new card. I do not see why this would not be the same even for a new card.
