BoA

I applied for my son a BoA cc and it has been two weeks and when I call they say the decision will be in the mail in 30 days.  I just checked his scores Trans 680 Ex 730 , his EQ is locked til we call them.  His history is 9 mths old,  EX shows is truck, and my BoA and my Household which he is AU's on.  The Trans only shows his truck.  Arent those pretty good scores that he should be approved for a cc?

Re: BoA

Those are wonderful scores! I wish I had them! Smiley Happy

I would say, he stands an excellent chance for getting a card. BoA is just slow as snails when approving/mailing cards. Don't dispair.

It took them 3 weeks from the time I learned I was accepted, until I received the card.

Re: BoA

I applied on 10/26 and am still getting the "under review" message when I call.  Seems to be taking longer than it used to.

Re: BoA

Thanks to you both for words of encouragement.  Only reason I'm getting him his own card is because of the new laws for next year on AU's.  In the mean time I got his EQ unlocked and it is 660 so that hopefully is not hurting him, I dont know BofA's lowest score they will accept.  Tks Vicki

Re: BoA

That's interesting that TU doesn't show the AU's. On my TrueCredit FAKO TU scores, it says my credit history is too short. Without my AU card it's 12 years, with it it's 18 years. On my FICO TU score, it is counted.

Looks like TU doesn't count AU on its FAKO's. Are your son's scores FICO's, by the way?

Re: BoA

The onyl thing I could see tht may cause concern is that he has no revolving tradelines of his own.  If they are eyeballing it they will se that. Hopefully they will still issue some sort of credit line.

Re: BoA

EQ doesnt show the AU's either I'm assuming thats why his score for EX is so much higher my long status with good pay record on my cc accs.  Plus the others say no cc usuage hurts him.  Yes I'm sure they are his FICO scores as it shows the seal (someone pointed that out to me on another post).  But interestly it shows the accs that I am an AU  (my husband's ccs) on all three CBR's. Tks Vicki

But how do you ever get your own revolving trade lines, he has done so well in paying my cc which only he uses, he PIF every two weeks.  His truck payment he made two payments every mth always on time, they show that as a joint acc.  Tks Vicki

I am trying to make sure he learns the things my husband and I were never taught, good financial responsibilty.  But he has to have something to be responsible for.  Tks Vicki

Re: BoA

There are cards for people with limit history.  Cap One offers one such card.  Don
t gve up til you hear from BofA tho.  If all else failshe can apply for Cap 1 I would try one of the better ones first.  Go plug his info into the card offers that they have and they will come back with some thing to apply for.

Good job, Mom! Smiley Happy

I learned the nutritional contents of bananas when I was forced to take home ec back in the day, but God forbid they would teach us anything useful. And I hate bananas anyway! Smiley Very Happy
