BofA CLI Decline...

Called backdoor number today to try and get an increse on my BofA Cash Rewards visa.  A little history, card opened in Dec 2011, never late.

Unsecured in Dec 2013 and gave me a 500 cli at that time, so total limit is 1000.00

TU 695 (bofa pulled them)

My income is 150k

Bk discharged Oct 2009

No lates since 2009

1 % Utilization

Other cards

Citi 5k

Citi 7k

Barclays 5k

I got declined becase the analyst said there was not enough time between my bk and now, I am disapointed.

That's not surprising. Wait until Oct 14 to apply for the CLI and you'll have a better chance.

I prevailed...

I called back and talked to another analyst today...he took all my info and put me on hold for 15 mins....came back and said...we will increase your line to 5k from 1k

and we will convert your card to a visa signature.

I thought the hold time was SO long that he might have called citibank to see how I use my cards with them.  I mean why would I need to hold so long?!?!

He may have had to review your account with more detail, or your credit history. He may have had to note that if you don't use the line properly, they'll close the account. They may have had to do some quick math or alter the approval citerion to get you approved.... They could have had to bake  an applie pie for their mom... LOL

or maybe they went to get a cup of coffee...

anything could have been happening in that hold time ;-)

Wow congrats, persistence pays off! I don't think BoA tracks recon calls like Barclays.

Congrats!!

I'll be calling the backdoor about my cli request as soon as I get my voice back from this ridiculous cold I have. With my luck I'll get a chatty analyst. It's been a couple days already.
