BofA CLI Status

I used that luv button for my BofA card. I left the requested CL blank and the message I got back was: "Your request has been submitted. You will receive a written decision in 5 to 7 business days." What does this really mean? Nothing has changed on the account. I don't think it is possible that they wont give me something.

Re: BofA CLI Status

In my experience, that's a denial, but a few other folks here say they've gotten approved after that message. In my experience, I've gotten 3 CLI's and have been denied 2 times. Both denials have come after receiving that 5-7 day message...

Good luck though.

Re: BofA CLI Status

in my experience as well, that's a denial. Try calling the backdoor number and checking it out. They would be able to tell you if you received the cli and why not if you didn't.

Re: BofA CLI Status

When I got that message, I didn't get the increase I wanted but I did get one.

Wanted to go from $5k to $10k but they bumped it to $6.5k.

All I think it means it that it requires a manual review.

Re: BofA CLI Statue

I called and they said my request was declined because my account was too new. I waited until after the third statement dropped. Still no go. They also alleged that they are my highest credit line which is not even close to correct. I have two higher. They are $3500 - I have WaMu at $3900 and PenFed at $10000. They even mentioned my very old lates on the WaMu card. (They also mumbled something about sufficient credit for income, but I know that is bunk and discussed it.)

They said to wait ANOTHER SIX MONTHS! I am irritated...

Re: BofA CLI Status

i was just about to make a new thread regarding this.
i havent activated my new BOA card yet and just hit the 'luv' button requesting about 6,000 more than the initial limit.  i got the message stating you will receive the increase within a day otherwise you will receive a letter in the mail 5-7 days stating why you were declined...

does the first part saying i will see it within the day mean an APPROVAL?

i called the number on the back of the card to say i was about to activate the card and was hoping for a CLI... she suddenly became sorta weird and said 'well this is a brand new card i wouldnt advise that because they will have to pull your credit.."..and i go "ummm..isnt this a soft pull?"..and she started stuttering and saying "oh well..uhhh..i think it might be.. uhhh. yeah i think it is.. hang on one second and i will see what can be done"....   she came back and said..

"i see you just requested an amount online... so you will need to wait and see if they post it or wait and see if you get a letter in the mail saying why they didnt... but right now they are still going over it apparently"...

she acted totally clueless and she wanst the friendlist woman in the world. the men of BOA ALWAYS seem to be nicer, and i'm not sure why.

wondering how long i should wait??

Re: BofA CLI Status

I didn't think they were too nice to me either. Treated me like a leper. I think I will try another call center tomorrow. I think we got CA. I had bad luck with ME before, too. They were nasty. OH was nice.

Re: BofA CLI Status

I called last night after I hit the luv button on Tuesday evening. No go, the analyst said to wait "8 months".  I opened the account in late March 2008.  He was very nice though and talked about that BOA was my highest CL and although I had some other lines that were close.....I need to wait.

That's it for me (no more cold apps & no more customer initiated CLI) !!!
