BofA cli question

Hi all,

I just passed my sixth statement with a BofA cash rewards card. My actual 6 month mark comes in about 2 weeks. I haven’t seen a pop up yet. Just wondering if it comes up after 6 months? If it doesn’t can I ask for a cli? Thanks!

Re: BofA cli question

When you log into your account, under the Card Details column over on the left you would normally have a blue Request a credit line increase link above your next closing date, last payment date, etc... if their computers thought you were eligible for a CLI.  If that's there, certainly go for it.  If not, it can be found under the Information & Services tab under Manage Your Account.  It is a hard pull on TransUnion 99% of the time, unless they have pulled a credit report for you in the past 30 days.  Never be bashful when asking for the amount you really want with BOA.

Thank you! Just out of curiosity, is it a HP regardless of whether or not there is a link or if I have to go in and request?

Yes all CLI requests with BoA are HPs but generally they are worth it as they tend to be verygenerous

Agreed! but if you already have another card sometimes when you app for a new one they take part of your CL from one of your other cards. As happen to me but it was worth while they gave me $2,000.00 more in the end 1 HP.

Re: BofA cli question

OP--Just a FYI....When you log in you have to click on  the name of your card where it will take you to tne next page showing the detailed info on that particular card. Somewhere in between all that info the Request Credit Limit Increase link will be mixed in. I had the link 4 mos. into getting my card in July 2016 and did the request in December 2016 and went from $5.5K to $11.5K. The past July I went up to $20K. Next time around in January I might ask for $30K.

Weirdly enough, my last CLI was not a HP. I had opened a card in August so it's possible they used that same HP to do the CLI. YMMV.

Within a month usually the same HP is good for all new CC's and CLI requests with BofA
