BofA luv button? Risk?

Hi all,

I know the CLI request for BofA does a soft pull, so that's good. But my question is, let's say they reject it, how long do I have to wait before I can try again? Will they restrict me from requesting a CLI for X number of months?

No, there is no restriction on how often you request with BofA.  However, be forewarned, when you request and they do a soft pull, they review your credit standing then and could possibly decrease your credit line.  Also, if you do several requests over a short period of time it will send up red flags...

I went ahead and tried it. OMG, I LOVE BofA! They have a customer for life. Gonna start another thread I will definitely not push my luck with it from now on!

That's odd, because even on the CLI page, they say that they won't pull without prior notice. Never heard of anyone getting hard pulled by BofA before (except, of course, when applying for a new line of credit ... NOT just a CLI).

I have heard of it, but as you said, never without informing the cardholder first and giving them a chance to rescind the request.

I used the button on their website to request CLI. Filled out a form IIRC, and got the message about 7-10 days something in the mail... Never told me if they would hard or soft.
