BofA pre-qual?

Is this a valid prequal from Bofa? I am strictly in the garden and I don't plan to apply but it was interesting to see a different type of prequal screen that I haven't seen before.Screen Shot 2016-03-30 at 1.04.58 PM.png

Re: BofA pre-qual?

It was under the special offers tab. I think this supports the theory that app sprees hurt less after 6 months, since this offer appeared right at the 6 month mark and my scores had a nice healthy jump this month also.Smiley Happy

Re: BofA pre-qual?

You're doing better than I am. I've banked with BOA for over 26 years and I never get anything in the special offers tab.

This is why I dumped BofA as my bank.. Now that I bank with US Bank most recently prior to  Penfed guess what I got approved for a BofA card lol.  They aren't a relationship bank IMO for savings/checking etc to CC's

Re: BofA pre-qual?

Those BofA recommended or customized offers are completely worthless.

I got one of those offers too and it was actually one with a fixed APR and time limit which many said that is a "real deal". So I applied and got denied.

I already have a BofA AmeriCard with them with a CLI of $20,000 but it has a AF, so I thought it was a good deal and since it popped up I thought it was a sure shot and especially since so many stated that it meant good deal.

But I went for it and got the declined. I don't think I would have thought about it until I saw it constantly put in my face when I logged into my account and after research it gave me the confidence to pull the trigger.

So no ANY offer in your account with BofA doesn't mean anything more than, you just maybe fitting some profile but that's it. No sure shot.

I can confirm this after having a business account with BofA.

Once i decided to close a business account and switched over instead to having a personal card(s) relationship with them, things have took a much better turn for the better and are light years ahead of anything experienced before. Smiley Very Happy

Re: BofA pre-qual?

The pre-quals on their website are solid. I have been approved for every card I've ever applied for. Love BOA
Had a card since 2000 and NEVER had a problem

I finally got fed up enough with them that I closed both my accounts in May and switched to a regional bank. Guess what? I've gotten several pre qual, (real with fixed APR), mailers since then. Smiley LOL
