We don't know how conservative this CU is. Those I suggested have 800+ scores or close to it and very strong profiles. So I knew they would be easy approvals.

800! on that note. goodnight

She's not saying that you have to have 800 credit scores just that a few of us do.  We have no idea what is needed for this CU

Why?  Quite a few CUs ask that.  Just put $25 K and if approved they'll counter if they can't give you that amount .

Right.  I got as far as Primary Applicant's State Of Residence (Ohio) as far as not being restricted geographically.  I'm going to let this one simmer for a bit Smiley Tongue

Re: Bourns Employees FCU

I was recently approved for BEFCU's Visa with CL $1,000 but my rate is 7.49% (not 4.99% but then again my credit is very limited in history (~4 years total, AAOA ~1 year)).

I volunteer at a nearby hospital and decided to stop by the credit union to join in person. The credit union is fairly small and I think they work on a more personal level than big banks and big credit unions.

My Visa application was sent July 9th and I joined membership later on July 14th. They were unable to process my application until after I became a member. I did, however, receive an email from a loan officer a day after my application so very prompt responses. From July 14th to July 16th, I was asked to send many documents (never had to do this before but heard about it on these forums). The loan officer was also concerned/surprised I had so much revolving credit and I told them I was rebuilding credit and wanted to diversify accounts with lenders. They had a credit committe review my application and I was approved a day after.

Still waiting for the card in the mail. Definitely excited to have a low APR from a local CU. Thanks for alerting my attention to this credit union, Themanwhocan!

Edit: 1 HP on Experian for CC, no pull for membership

I've generalized my view of CA CUs after my Golden 1 experience.   The app form was perfectly happy to take MA as state of residence, only after a pull did they realize that they couldn't issue credit there.

Hmmm.  Any idea what your scores are and if you have anything but positive tradelines?  Actually did they send you a letter since technically you didn't get their best offer rate wise?  In Riverside, double hrm.

Funny when you type in BEFCU into Google and their first response is: did you mean becu?

Triple hmm, itty bitty CU: "grown its membership to over 2,637 with assets of more than $37,288,279."

Oh god, just clicked on their top 100 CU's on this site and the CU a coworker of mine who actually just asked me for a credit building plan, his CU which had all of 2 entries in the various credit pull databases, is #4th by assets in Santa Ana.  Not sure why I restricted my search to LA county, dumb das me.

Congrats!  It looks like they are a Riverside based CU.  I wonder how they would look at an application from the Bay Area.  With 2600 members, it looks like a tiny little CU, but their rates look good on a number of products.
