I just got my American Express BCE card. It gives you a 0% APR for 15 months. I think it's a perfect opportunity to use this to buy a laptop for college. I'm majoring in Computer Engineering.
I plan to pay 150 each month
I'm think between the Macbook pro 13" $1399.00 or Macbook Pro 15" $1899.00
My Amax BCE $2000
Is this a good idea or dumb?

Is this your only credit card? If so your utilization will be dinged for a while

If you don't plan on applying for anything else soon, go for it. Just don't charge more to that card until paid off.

If you're not planning to get 3x CLI in the future it is fine to do that, but if I were you I won't do it. I have Amex BCE too, I started $2k limit and use it, never had a balance every month, I did 61 days 3x CLI and went to $6k, same thing I use the card for expensive purchase but never had a balance every month, now I did 181 days 3x CLI went to $18k limit, now I'm going to use that 0% APR until March 2016 because I already got the limit I want from them.
I bought mine on my Slate a few months ago and slowly paying it off. It's not a bad idea if you can pay it off but like others have said your utilization will be hurting for a while.
