I understand this card is backed by Cap1 but wondering is the rewards worth it? Like i mean free earnings towards a new car. Its 2% which is nice.
So few questions on this one:
1. Is it hard to get?
2.Are CLI Sp or Hp with this card?
3. Anyone know min. approval limit?
4. Do they triple pull like their reg. cards.
5. Can i link this to my cap 1 account or is it like a store card where its seperate? I think its seperate but please correct me.
Can't answer the first two but I think it should be relatively easy, I was approved with an EQ of 710 I think at the time. There's no option for a CLI on their page so it's probably an HP if you call in but not sure, I haven't tried yet. Even though it's a WEMC I was approved with a $3k limit instead of the normal $5k minimum to get one. I read on these forums where a couple people only got a $600 limit so they do dish out small limits sometimes (it is Cap one after all). Good news is they only pull EQ and not all three like they normally do, and finally it is a separate site to log on, gmcard.com Good luck
Oh also its %5 back for the first $5k in purchases every year then %2 for everything, which is pretty good. Can only be redeemed towards a new vehicle though. Card is very ugly in person though like most Capital One cards, I have the Cadillac version, very flimsy and cheap looking. Looks almost like a hotel key card.
Edit: Left out info

So it is only towards new vehicles? Cant do a used one?Alright thanks for the info.
No only new ones unfortunately. I know how you feel, wish they would allow used vehicles too
wow i did not know that this card only worked on new cars thats rough. I always wondered how this card would work at the dealership? When do you have to tell them that you have the card? That could make a big difference in the price that they give you...

not onky can you only use it on new cars but the amount used is capped as well
Edit: I read my message over and it was confusing even to me so hopefully this helps. I want to know if this passage of information taken from the link below is correct for the newest Buypower card or if the new card has the same redemption allowance limits for new vehicles as the older GM card. Thanks!
How the New GM Card Works
Cardholders receive 5% back on their first $5,000 of annual purchases in the form of rewards dollars toward the purchase or lease of a new GM vehicle. After the cardholder’s first $5,000 of purchases each year, the rate of return is 2% with no limit and no expiration date. In contrast, the previous version of this card offered cardholders 5% back on all purchases, but limited discounts to a “redemption allowance” of $1,000 to $3,000 per vehicle.
