C level credit card?

What does it mean to say

"The C Level is the rate of the card"?

Thanks in advance

Re: C level credit card?

My guess is it has to do with the tier you are rated for APR rate you'll pay if you carry a balace.

Re: C level credit card?

Check the back of your statement.  See if they list rates for A, B, C, etc.   On my CU statement, it has a paragraph describing the rates for each letter.  There was a different letter for purchases vs cash advances.

Re: C level credit card?

The guidlines for most banks/CU's use the following tiers:

Tier A+ aka 0 is scores > 725

Tier A aka 1 is scores 724-699
Tier B aka 2 is scores 698-670

Tier C aka 3 is scores 669-650

Tier D aka 4 is scores 649-620

Tier F aka 5 is scores < 620

AMEX BCP $35k | Citi Double Cash $30k | PenFed PlatRewards $25k | Barclaycard $40k | Chase Freedom $25k | BofA Cash Rewards $40K | US Bank Cash+ $4500 | Discover IT $25k | NASA Platinum-Advantage $40k | CapOne Quicksilver $15k | Amazon Card $10k | Ten years on myFICO from 510 to 780 scores

Re: C level credit card?

I appreciate it y'all.  The email said

"The request has been approved for a $1,000 VISA at C level"

My CU listed me at "G".  It didn't have anything to do with my credit score, it was just a letter to match up how they calculated my interest.  I always ignored it because I PIF.  I have heard of different Tiers for things like auto rates, but I didn't know they were for CC's, too.

Re: C level credit card?

The email goes on to say

There are two options, one is 11.80% with no annual fee and no frills, the other is 14.80% with no annual fee and earns cash back on purchases.

I've never heard of "Levels" being assigned to credit cards, but then this only the second one I've applied for in umpteen years.  I chose 11.8 and no frills.

Yeah what I mentioned I believe is mainly for auto's, and since I'm in that business I just pulled a bank form out of my desk and copied it onto here.
