I been with Cap1 for a few months and started with a 500 SL and got a CLI of 100 Dollars !! but i also been trying to product change and finally got it the platinum to the Quicksilver 1.5 back on everything but now my question is should i try to get another CLI before i get my CLI from the Credit step program or just wait 6 months ?
I would call Cap One. But I would think since you just got the product-change, you should wait 6 months to request a CLI. My husband has a Cap One Quicksilver, and he had to do the same thing. YMMV
Pretty aure you can only get 1 increase before the steps. But try it, worst they can do is deny it. No hp.
True that. Cap One is not like Citi, OP, so you can try your luck and not risk anything.
You can do a CLI for new accts after the 3 statement cuts, then its every 6 months. The only exception is the auto credit steps CLI after the 5 statement.

Totally forgot about the 6 month waiting period and was coming back to post that. The steps increase is the only increase they offer that the rule doesn't apply to. I guess combining accounts is another one since you can get a CLI, then combine.

A product change doesn't affect your ability to receive CLIs. Perhaps you're confusing this with account combinations, which do delay your ability to request and recieve a CLI for the next six months.
I mean i got a CLI of 100 dollars like a month ago and but i saw i had a offer of a product change with the link from one of the thread here and before doing it i asked if it would vold my credit setps and the rep told me no and i could try to do a CLI there isn't a wait period
A product change doesn't change anything except for the rewards structure, the verification number on the back of the card, possibly the expiration date, and the annual fee (if applicable).
The rep was wrong. Any CLI needs to be 6 months from the last CLI or account combination as that also counts as a CLI.
