This doesn't include pre-1997 cards, but I've had cards since 1985. In 1996 I swore off credit for a while after running up some big bills. So, my three cards from 1997-present are, as seen in my signature:
1997 - MBNA Mastercard, applied through my local bank, was originally a bank cobranded card. Immediately had $5500 SL lowered to $500 (my start as "LowLimits"). Sometime around 2007-2008 BoA bought MBNA and it became a BoA card, and also around then it received an auto CLI to $1000. It stayed there until January 2018 when it was auto CLIed to $3000. This prompted me to call them and lower it back to $500, and suppress all future CLIs. Then in March, I had it PCed over to a Cash Rewards card.
2005 - LL Bean Visa issued by MBNA. After a house fire I needed a higher limit card to cover replacement items, so I applied and received the LL Bean Visa with a $5K SL. Over the years this card changed from LL Bean to a MBNA Rewards Visa, then a BoA Rewards Visa, and it had auto CLIs over the years until it eventually reached $16500 and then it stayed there for years until I had it lowered to $2000 in January 2018.
2018 - Chase Amazon Prime Visa. Since I buy a lot from Amazon the 5% cashback sounded enticing so I applied and was instantly approved for this card in February 2018 with a $8500 SL. Soon afterward I had the limit reduced to $1500 to bring it in line with my other cards and my spending patterns.
And that's it for now. No new cards planned for the foreseeable future as I'm gardening now.
Ok.
