While most of them do, sometimes it isn't clear. I think there's a couple of threads here on SP CLIs.
Sureshot way to prevent unwanted HP: freeze your reports. Added benefits : prevent ID theft and drapping.

I don't bother with this and haven't had an issue. I do monitor my reports and could see myself freezing reports if I was going into the garden to prepare for something long term like a mortgage.
Monitoring the reports is a must anyway; but getting a notification post-fact is a good option while preventing unwanted HPs is better, in my opinion. And to those of us with weak hearts, it's definitely a surer way to garden.
Is it a necessity? Not so much (unless you're a victim of identity theft or you foresee being one), but it's pretty much worth the money for me.
I do lose out on getting some good prescreened offers, but when one of the general idea of freezing is to stop getting tempted to app, not getting prescreened offers help remove the temptation !
AMEX for sure...my amex everyday preferred card went from 10k to 50k in one year..
Another vote for Amex; once you get in with them on a revolver they love to give out the credit.
Also, in regards to freezing CRA's I'm a HUGE proponet of this. Not only to help with ID theft, but its great when asking for CLI's on a whim and not knowing whether it'll be a hard pull or not, I use it for that all the time. If the company uses a soft pull, you either get the CLI or you don't and all is good. If they require a HP, you'll get a letter asking to unfreeze your reports (at which case I never do)...its also a great "safety measure" for getting the app itch. ![]()
