I always figured that Lowe's had contracts with local contractors for jobs like roof/windows/etc. and that you'd sort of use Lowe's (pay them) as the middle man. My understanding could be wrong on that, though. My Lowe's card is at $30k now, but I could probably bump that up to $35k with a SP CLI prior to taking on the big expense. I could always do some sort of split too perhaps, like 50% on my Lowe's card and then 50% on my Discover or Citi DC, whichever/either that would give me 0%. That way I keep my highest utilization card even lower.

We had a windstorm in our area a couple of years ago, soon after a roofing company was offering to inspect for storm damage and provide information to the insurance company to file a claim if they found any. Several of my neighbors got new roofs paid for by insurance.
kinda sounds like lawyers that goto hospitals and looks for injured patients being this roofing company. I work in the insurance industry and would venture to say 70% of the claims are fraudulent in nature and it warms my heart when we clearly see one and go after that person and sue them and win and then recommend criminal prosecution, it warms my heart. A bit of my own tangent. BTW not car insurance but medical insurance for hospitals/dr's. One fraudulent claim can cost us in excess of 1 million plus
Yup they are know as Storm Chasers. Anytime there is a tornado or a hail storm they descend on the neighborhood and try to tell you they can get you a new roof and/or siding paid for by your insurance company.
