OK -- apped for CHASE Amazon 2 weeks ago today, got the 2 week message both via email and automated -- still today "We will notify of you of our decision in approximetely 2 weeks" ... ANY idea why th3e 2 week period ? I wonder what actually is going on during these 2 weeks, versus the 7-10 day period or 30 day period ... Verification ? System pending ? Account creation ? A senior UW approval manually ? Seems so odd and nobody gets it !!!
This was before my fiasco with them last week, so before nayone asks why I apped after a freeze (on my RITZ, due to a cash advance which I passed!) it was prior to that lol !!
Score was 708 on EXP pull at time of app. So any ideas? Anyone have any direct exprience with these "2 weeks" apps ? I want to know exactly what thety do during this time, and why many seem to yield approvals vs 7-10 days. From whati gather, 7-10 days is already a denial
You can call and make sure they don't need verification, and if they don't, just keep waiting it out. I don't know why sometimes the apps take weeks but most people feel it's better to just leave it alone and wait through it. Particularly with your recent snafu with them, I'd definitely not draw any extra attention to myself if I were you.
Call the verification line, if they want to transfer you to lending, hang up.. Speaking from experiance on that one.
I agree just call verification. I've had to do it on my last two cards with them and received the 2 weeks message each time.
I have just called the CSP line as have this card and ask my status after 11 pm eastern (lending is closed at this time) and ask if verification they ask me a few questions and say nope just working it was through system when I get 2 week message and a few days later each time approved. Weird thing is after approval I always get a letter from Chase Fraud dept. notifiying me of something or another, but apparently at least for me I answer a few questions on the CSP number and it appears to get it pushed through possibly verification as this is the only sense I can make from it and the lettters. My first two chase cards CSP/Freedom always had to go through verification last two I headed off by calling the CSP number
if I get the 2 week message on INK, does it likely mean approval like the rest of the chase cards?

No telling based on the timeframe itself. You can always call recon to see if you can get info on what's going on.

The message means nothing other than the timeframe needed with any creditor. It does not tell you the outcome.

Exactly.
OP - it appears you're overthinking and overworrying about a standard application process. No one can provide you with a definitive answer on where your application stands as far as the message the automated phone system provides (2 weeks vs 14 days vs 30 days vs 7-10 days). For all we know, there was a gerbil strike and applications got held up
3 simple options:
(1) Continue to wait (this has killed no one in the past). Some applications can take up to 30 days (see previous Chase threads)
(2) Since it sounds like you are impatient, contact the verifications number to determine whether further information is needed - the process has been explained before
(3) Send your "special" Chase contact an email to see if mountains can be moved
So OP, what was the result? I'm approaching same week. 2nd week of the 2 week message.
