Re: CITI AA advantage American Express card

citi pulls regional, just depends on where you live. the only connection would be that it uses the amex network, the funds are backed by citi.

Re: CITI AA advantage American Express card

Unless I am mistaken - That card is really a CitiCard that uses the Amex Network.  All benifits and card management are handled by Citibank.  It will report on your CR as a CitiCard.  The credit pull depends on where you live.

Re: CITI AA advantage American Express card

Keep in mind that this is a no preset spending limit card, and the credit line most likely won't be reported to the CRAs.

The Citi AAdvantage American Express card has no pre-set spending limit.   From the Citi website--

Like most credit cards, you'll have a revolving line of credit. But the Citi® / AAdvantage® American Express® Card gives you more spending power with no pre-set spending limit. You will not incur over-the-limit fees for each month in which you spend beyond the revolving line.

World MasterCards and Signature Visa cards also have no pre-set spending limits.

Go to Citi / AAdvantage cards page on the Citi website.  Under the AAdvantage American Express card, click the blue "Quick Facts" link, then click the blue "View Card Details" link.

Another way of determining if a card has a no pre-set spending limit is to look at the T&Cs, and see if any mention is made of an "over limit fee."  If there is an over limit fee, then the card does have a pre-set spending limit.  When reviewing the AAdvantage American Express card's T&Cs, you see--

Balance transfer fee:   3% of each balance transfer; $5 minimum.
Cash advance fee:       3% of each cash advance; $5 minimum.

Late fee:                     • $15 on balances up to $100
                                     • $29 on balances of $100 up to $250
                                     • $39 on balances of $250 and over

No mention is made of an over limit fee.  This method probably works for most cards, except for American Express Clear, which boasts no fees.
