Almost 7 years post BK 7... Any guiidance on applying with CITI?
You can check Citi pre-qual as a first start
Was right about 7 years post BK7 when I got approved for my Costco card. But depends on the rest of your profile.
Since there are two sides of the financial arm of Citi...Citi retail services (Home Depot, Best Buy, etc..), and Citibank (legacy card division), BK policies and approvals are very different.
The retail side is fairly easy to get, but the legacy side is more difficult with BK showing on reports still. I was 6 years post BK DC when I got approval for Coscto Visa. I had tried several times before, and I have a very thick and well established credit profile with high limit major cards as well.
BUT...I also have several new accounts and inquiries at all times, lol, so I had to cool my jets for 6-8 months before approval. Citi is inquiry sensitive, and also to new accounts.
But, approval is really profile specific on the person applying. When I applied, I had 1% revolving utilization reporting on one card only when I applied as well.
How many new accounts and inquiries do you have in the last 6mo/ 1yr?, also whats your utilization sitting at?
For people with BK showing, we have to set ourselves up sometimes to look better on paper and an UW sometimes.
