CITI CLI

I opened a CITI Platinum for the BT on 10/31/2011.  I have 4 other cards with 5000 CL but of course CITI gives me 1800.  Called in today and they doubled the line to 3600 w/o a hard pull.  Thats great and all but how long should I wait with a Citi card to request another CLI?

4-6 months.

You also should be able to do it online, but maybe with calling in they are able to tell you if they need to pull HP vs. online I think they say we "might"

Re: CITI CLI

Thanks..I would definately suggest doing it over the phone she doubled the CL with a soft then asked if i wanted to speak to the credit department for more but it would be a hard so I declined (FYI I called Citi retention backdoor)

Re: CITI CLI

How often is Citi granting CLI's nowadays? I remember they used to grant CLI's every 3-4 months like clockwork.

I usually have usage around $1000 per month on all of my Citi cards, and I usually get increases like $1,200 or $1,500 or $1,800.  I guess it depends on how giving of a mood they are in.  If you call in they can tell you if you can qualify for one with a soft pull.

Re: CITI CLI

I got my Citi Diamond Preferred in October of 2010 (which I have since changed into a Citi Forward) issued at a paltry $500 limit.  Went from $500 to $1000 to $2200 to $3400 to $5900 where it is now.  All of these were soft pulls, some at 4 month intervals until they switched to 6 month requirement now.

I got my Citi Dividend in April of 2011 issued at $4800 then to $6400 then to $8200 where it is now. All of these were soft pulls.

And last month I applied for the Citi Hilton card and was approved for $11,000.

Edit to add: NONE of these were auto.
