When i was new to credit back in summer of 2010 i opened 2 secured credit cards... 1BOA and 1 CITI... Everything was going great... Until i had a lil problem with Citi card I was making large purchases with the card like 3 -5k at one time...limit was 5k that I had deposited with them.. Everytime I used the card I had to speak to the security deparment before the charge could get approved... Anyway one time I made a charge for 4,000 and the merchant had to give me a refund because the items werent in stock... As soon as the amount was credited my card was shut down... They sent me a letter saying that your account is very risky for us... (I took me 4 months after this to get my $5,000 security deposit back !!!) They told me to keep the $$$ in the cd still, I told them to go to hell and give me my money otherwise I will sue....Lol
i was mad for over a year so never even once bothered with them.... But i would def like to once establish a large tradline with them in my life... But i applied a couple times but have given up so far with them.... I get declined now cus of too many inq... I have alot over 20 in the past 2 years.... any advice... DONT WORRY WONT APPLY ANY TIME SOON !!!!! just wondering for the future like 2014.... thats all
you mean you have 20 inquiries in each and every CRA or in total?
i think they will approve you. you just need to get rid of those inquiries.
i read they dont like them much. anyways, if you decide to apply, make sure you have less than 5 and no recent accs(<6 months) and also apply to two cards at the same time. i applied yesterday and they only pulled once. the apps were made simultaneously*
I have 20 on equifax but that is the most others are around 12-15.... most lenders for me pulled eq...
I wont apply anytime soon, but maybe in 2 years when i have lil or no inqu... I will only apply for one card... I would just be happy to get one cc with a 15-25 limit... Hopefully in the next 2 years most of my cc will be in that range, so thats why they would match the limit...
Yeah, they hate me too. I have applied numerous times, always being denied for inquiries. Even when they weren't excessive. Recently I was approved for Discover More and Chase Freedom, I would like to add Citi while my scores are still amazing, but have no doubt that the application will most likely be denied.
