So I've been a CITI Diamond Preffered CC customer since 2012. I was given a Limit of $1,000.00 and my credit scores at the time were right at 700 across the board, prolly once a year i would click the CLI button and get denied every time, now back on March 8th 2016, my scores were up to 750 across the board, hit the button, denied. I pretty much was like yeah....citi hates me, all my other cards are up to 10k limits, but not citi, i don't know what their deal is. Today is May 6th 2016 now, right almost 2 months after my last denial. Got a email for a automatic CLI to $1,500.00. Like really CITI? not sure if slap in the face, or just feel bad for me after all these years. Has anyone else had this much trouble with this card? i have great income, not a lot of debt, good scores, i just don't understand. Maybe i should wait a few months and call them for my next request that way they can actually tell me why they are acting this way.
I've only had citi for about a month and a half so I can't speak about CLIs but their terms seem like a joke to me... I got the DC card and the toffer that they gave me was a complete joke... I got Quicksilver the same day and Cap1 gave me $10k@20% while citi gave me a slap in teh face of an offer $3k@23%... daf am I gonna do with that?
When you requested your CLI's.. were they hard or soft pulls? I gotta get my limit to a useful level, $3k is literally unusable... but if they are just gonna be %$^&%^%$#$%s for CLIs, I don't wanna waste my pulls on them... I'll just get Blispay instead...
I haven't seen any hard pulls yet from citi, but ive just been clicking the button, not calling. Citi is by far my lowest credit line and highest interest rate. Got me over here calculating how much it'd hurt my AAoA if i canceled this card. Just worthless, near double the interest rates of my other cards, and 5x lower limit.
yup... same here... with Blispay out, they better take a long and hard look at their offers because they will very quickly lose customers... Swiping DC is literally painful cause you never kno when you'll hit that limit... I've had to pay off the card multiple times in the month and a half that I've had it just so I could continue using it day to day...
Always thought Citi was wonky as well. Every time I requested a CLI with them I was denied; but then out of the blue I'd get these wonderful auto-CLI's (from 10k to 23k one time)....be patient with them and you may be surprised what happens.
They gave me a $5,400 limit on a ThankYou Premier, and 2 weeks later when the card arrived I requested a CLI to $30,000 online. It was a HP, but about an hour later they increased me to $21,300.
Now I did have an American Express at $30k, so the request wasnt completely insane.
