CLI 7-10 day message....anyone still approved?

I applied for a CLI with Cap One. They assured me a soft inquiry by doing it online. But I got that message a lot of us get "we'll mail you in 7-10 days." How many have gotten that message and still got approved? Just trying to weigh my chances.....

Every app I've done has been a wait, if it makes you feel better.

More than likely that's a decline decision.  Wait until the document/letter posts online and you can review the reasons.

I got the same response and my letter stated they are not doing CLI during the transtion period, used to be HSBC.  I did chat and ask was that a hard pull for them to tell me that crap in a letter and they assured me is was a soft.  I have not checked my credit reports as of yet so I guess I will see later on.

I did it online. Should I have done it with a CSR by phone?  I heard that Cap One is the MOST CONSERVATIVE lender in the world and that hardly anyone gets a CLI.

Re: CLI 7-10 day message....anyone still approved?

to add, in your document center online, the doc should post much earlier than 7-10 days, and will say what your score was and the report date.  My CLI from a $300 limit was declined, and showed a credit score date of 6/25/13, even though I submitted on 8/14/13, must have been the last soft pull they had.  My score went up a ton since 6/25 as my utilzation went from very high to less than 5%.

Didn't bother with a recon though, as I was approved for better cards, and had an AF so cancelled.  Good luck.

Re: CLI 7-10 day message....anyone still approved?

I got the 7-10 day message, spoke to a rep online who said I wouldn't get reviewed for an increase till October (this was 9 days ago).  Then went online this morning to make a payment and got a $1,000 increase - definitely pleasant surprise and not what I was expecting, after being told "no, wait."  +1 for Cap One, I actually don't hate them at this moment
