CLI Capital one Quicksilver

I started out with Cap1 platinum in Aug 2016 and got 1 auto increase from $500-$750. Been trying the luv button with no luck getting denial reason "recent returned payment on account" which I addressed. Since then I been maxing out the card and PIF by end of statement which I learned in this forum that it's a good tactic to receive a CLI. I also found a link here and did a product upgrade to quicksilver no AF 1.5% cashback. I waited 3 months and finally hit the luv button again this time getting a instant $100 increase. Not even interested. I read on here it's best to cancel the request and wait 2 plus weeks and see if they offer a higher CLI. What's the trick to get cap1 to give big increases? I thought I did everything in the books. I even got my brother to add me as AU on his cap1 CC 15k limit.

Re: CLI Capital one Quicksilver

How long ago (or recent) was the returned payment?

If such type of occurrence took place, it may be a while before Capital One offers any type of "generous" CLI.

Re: CLI Capital one Quicksilver

I have a QS1 I obtained in July 2017 with a 3500 cl. In the spirit of good ol fashioned Midwest American greed, for like 5 months straight, I kept hitting the luv button like Moby playing a digital instrument. Nothing! Finally in Dec I called in and asked when I would be available for a cli? Ol girl was like "June 13." I'm like "Fk! I gotta wait 6 months?". So fast forward to June 13th, (mind you, after 6 months of squirming in my chair and looking at a button that someone told me not to touch) I pulled the trigger and got 2000. It was worth the wait. But the credit card companies should maybe consider having some sort of cli progress/countdown bar for impatient knuckleheads like myself. lol.

Re: CLI Capital one Quicksilver

The returned payment was back in March. I even wrote in to the EO office and they couldn't do anything about the returned payment. It was my banks fault because I had funds available. Took 3 months before the luv button would work again.

Re: CLI Capital one Quicksilver

I suspect it might take a while since it's been less than 6 months. Even with the EO escalation, the system has internal hard-coded programming that CSRs wouldn't be able to override.

I'd suggest to keep trying until your CC eventually qualifies for something substantial or >$100.
