CLI Form for Citi CLI Request

They ask for banking info such as savings and checking if you are unfortunate enough to get the form when asking online for a CLI. What info can they get? Do they learn what amounts you have in checking and savings or can they just verify the accounts just exist. I am curious as to what info they can actually get from your banks or credit unions when you fill out the form.

Re: CLI Form for Citi CLI Request

I believe its illegal for your banks to disclose the amount in your accounts. I think its just to verify that you have them  (or maybe it is even a bluff on their part)- that probably reduces their credit risk somewhat.

Re: CLI Form for Citi CLI Request

I have heard the banks may possibly divulge the info for business cards. I didn't think they would give out the info for personal lines but if Citi gets nothing but the existence of the accounts it seems pointless.

Once you make a payment online, it won't ask you for that info.  I think they can just verify if the account exists.  They can't get specific account info from your bank unless you have a signed release form on file at your bank for Citi.

Been paying online for over a year now and the form asked for bank info. I didn't bother to fill out the form I was just seeing if there was a hard free CLI available to me.

I just received a CLI with Citi, I called and spoke to cust service or you can ask for the credit department. They will ask if you have a checking and/or savings all you need reply is yes or no. They do not ask for account numbers. I prefer to deal with a person, vs a form online. And I get great results. The only thing I am uncomfortable with is when they ask how much of an increase would you like? I request a match to my highest CL (whether a citi card or other).

Try it and see what happens. With your scores I cannot imagine you having any issues as long as your CRs are clean. For me (NJ) they pulled EX.

Thanks. My reports are not yet clean. 21 more months to go for that.
