Howdy,
So I just received the CLI on my Walmart Discover bring me up to $5,000 and was thinking I should try for a BOA increase as well. Question is, should I go ahead and request for BOA now before the Walmart Discover increase hits my reports or should I wait for it to report before I do?
It's been about 15 months since I've had an increase on my BOA card and the last one I got was when the secured card graduated. It went from $500 to $2,000 at that time.
What do y'all think?
Be very careful. I wanted a CLI increase. Had no particular reason, just wanted to increase my line and it had been over 6 months since my previous one. I went to my Disover online account and did it through there. It then said I will be notified in a few days. That was the first clue that this isn't going to turn out well. A few days later Discover calls me and tell me that they aren't going to give me an increase, and that they performaned a hard pull. So I hurt my credit score all for nothiing.
from reading on here, everyone says BofA is a HP regardless if you get a CLI or not. I want one as well but don't want the HP.
I would not waste the HP on BoA I would save it to app for another card at a later time. If it wasnt a HP I would let the other CLI report prior to asking for it.

The OP is refering to Walmart Discover which is issued by GECRB all CLIs are SPs with them except for Care Credit.
Yes I already received an increase on my Walmart Discover. I was just wondering if I should wait for that increase to report on my CR before attempting a CLI on my BOA card.
It's been 15 months since I received my last auto CLI, so I figured I would probably not have any issues receiving one, just wondered if it would look better to them on review if I did or did not have the Walmart Discover increase showing.

Yeah but he's asking if he should CLI BofA card, NOT the Walmart Discover.

I myself would wait for the new limit to report, I am a firm believer in higher limits beget higher limts.

Yah, I hear that quite alot. Maybe having two card 5,000+ instead of just the one will fetch me a higher line on the BOA. My annual income is only $30,000 so I wasn't sure if total credit available may effect their decission if they thought I was getting too much. Although I see a lot of folks on here with credit lines two or three times their annual income...lol

That is irrelevant. Was just stating my personal experiences. Experiences like that can happen with any credit card company. You might get hit with HP and still get no increase or a very little one.
