Hello beautiful people,
Waited a few days to find out my request was denied for a CLI. The gold card is my only loan product with them and guess i'll find out in the mail why it was denied.
Wanting to find out, since I am still shopping for another new card, if I can use the same pull to apply for the Platinum that I am pre qualified for with them? Also does being turned down for a CLI on the gold mean i'll be denied a new card? Thanks in advance everyone!

I "think" Penfed uses a different credit bureau for new credit cards versus CLI's -- and I know they use different ones for auto loans and credit cards. To make sure you don't get an unwanted HP, freeze your reports and call in and speak to someone -- do not do it online! It's very common for people who have been turned down for a CLI get a brand new card with a high limit the same day, but don't waste an HP, call them directly.
Thanks I'll give them a call. I still haven't got a alert that they pulled anything for the CLI request maybe it's delayed.

Actually they may not do an HP for CLI's. When I was referring to the different bureaus I was also meaning their monthly monitoring of your account. I have two Penfed cards that I never use and they have limits of $25K and $20K so I've never asked them for a CLI, but I read on these forums every day. No matter freeze those reports and call. That's the safe bet.
I spoke with a Customer service rep and she advised they can use the same pull for the PCR application so i submitted it since I have nothing to lose. It also went to review so this is the second time it has not given me a instant approval and after my first denial with them i hope this doesn't turn into a second denial.. We will see in the next day or two. Fingers crossed hoping for a approval this time.
