CLI for Chase CFU

I applied for my CFU while opening my Chase checking account. The next day I called Recon and learned that I had been denied. During the call I bantered with the CSR and managed to get a 1K SL approval. The very next day, due to an unexpected huge hike in my Experian score, I asked for a CLI and got an additional 5K.

All of this happened December 21-22, 2017, about 7 months ago. I've been 6K CL all along. I plan on being in the garden until April, 2020. My scores are in the mid-to-high 700s and my current utilization is 14%. I have nine HP's on Experian, which Chase pulls in California. Four of the 9 HPs are over one year in age. I have 1 and 2 HPs on the other 2 CRAs. AAoA is about a year.

Now to my question: After 7 months at 6K, should I chance another CLI? I have no baddies of any kind and my record with Chase on two cards is perfect. I got a CSP in April with a 16.7K SL.

Whaddyu think? I have a fairly high balance (50% util) on my Discover card. Large balances on other cards were BTed to it. My 5 other cards report 0. I know that Chase is noted for being mercurial, unpredictable and touchy. I just want as many educated opinions as I can get on a possible CLI request.

Re: CLI for Chase CFU

I'm sure you can request it and possible get a CLI but if you have the CSP with 16.7k, I wouldn't bother. Plus the Discover is giving you CB just like the CFU. If anything, I would consolidate the 2 cards into one (move the CFU CL to the CSP CL). In the end though, it's up to you.

Re: CLI for Chase CFU

If you look around the forum you will find numerous posts suggesting applying for a new card with Chase rather than asking for a CLI.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I wouldn't do that especially if the OP is wanting to earn points in Chase's UR ecosystem. If anything - if OP can swing it - is applying for the Freedom to complete the trifecta and move limits around accordingly til OP is happy. But as AJC pointed out do you really need it? Because usually taking a HP for a CLI request doesn't usually being good results as far size of the CLI itself.
