CLI on new BoA card?

I recently just got a Hello Kitty World Points card with BoA with a $5K limit.  I had a BoA Red Sox card with a $5K limit and closed it only a few days after the other was opened.  I just didn't see the need to have both (I know it will hurt the score for a little while).  Do you think it's okay to ask for an increase on the Hello Kitty card since both had a $5K limit and now it's just the one card?

ouch you really should have asked to combine and close. maybe try and call, good luck.

I'd say go for it. Obviously BofA thinks that you are worthy enough for $10K in credit from them. Do it by phone, though, so you can explain. Good luck!

First rule of Myfico, do not close out good tradelines, especially ones with good history on them. Why throw away all that hard work?

Yeah, you acted too hastily. They could have combined those two cards into your one hello kitty card for a total credit line of $10k, not including any credit line increases on top of that.

I would call back ASAP and see if they can reverse the closeout.

Yes i agree, call then and ask to reopen the other card then combine to two cards. Hope everything works out
