CLI question

If I go through BOA's website and request a CLI using the magic button, will it pull credit as a hard hit?

Re: CLI question

Thanks -you both so much. They had offered a higher limit, and I declined at the time...stupid I now know. I wanted to call them back and tell them to raise it back to 10K. That will certainly help utilization.

Thanks for quick responses.

Re: CLI question

I just got a BOA gold visa 1 month ago with a $3500 credit limit. Thanks to this post I couldn't resist going for some love. The first screen said there wouldn't be a hard inquiry unless notified, so I proceeded. It asked me how much of an increase I'd like and what my profession/salary was and if I owned or rented my home.

I asked for $10,000 and.........a decision will be made within one business day and if approved will be immediately available.

I suppose this is a denial, but we'll see. I should have waited because I just received the card this month. DOH!!

Maybe not a denial! Check your limit online.

Re: CLI question

I just had to share. I submitted a CLI online with Bank of America. It said I should know by tomorrow. I couldn't wait so I called them. The lady went ahead and approved by CLi to $8000.

No I just have to pay them off

BofA Rewards 14%  CL-$8000 Current Balance $4000
BofA Platinum 12% CL-$8000 Current Balance $1500
Capitalone 14% CL-$4500 Current Balance $0

If I can get 1% BT on my capitalone card, should I move the $4000 to that card? I plan to ask for a CLI on the other BofA card tomorrow. (just to reduce util)

Almost to 700!

Re: CLI question

Wow....CLI approved for $10,000 and is available immediately via their web-site info. $3,500 to $10,000 in the first month of having the card. So far, no complaints here!!!!!
Now I'm going to verify that it was a soft pull and not a hard one...
My only frustration is that I got the increase on the day of/after my 1st statement cut. Statement doesn't reflect the increase, so I'll have to wait anotehr 30 days for the bureaus to see the nice increase.

This is now my highest limit card, followed by Citi Diamond Preferred for $8,500 received 3 months ago.
Rust never sleeps and neither does my fico score...
