CLI with Capital One Product Change?

I received notice online that I was eligible for a product change from Capital One Platinum to either the Venture or Quicksilver card. I am leaning towards the Venture card because I already have cash back rewards on Discover It and AMEX and I really want a milage card. My curent CL is $6800 on the Platinum card. When I call in to switch to the Venture, what are my chances of getting a CLI? I had made a request on the platinum this month and was denied.  The reason was that I had already received a CLI 5 months ago. My utilization is currently at less than 10% on that card. What do you all think? Thank you in advance!

Re: CLI with Capital One Product Change?

Cap One seems to like to only give CLIs every 6 months.  You can always ask though through the luv button, but you only have a month to go if that gets denied.

Re: CLI with Capital One Product Change?

I'd PC it now to a VentureOne, or a Venture if you don't mind the AF.

Reason: CLI's and limits are higher on the Venture's. If you PC it now, and go to request a CLI in a month (when you're eligible), you might get a lot more.

Thank you. Can you tell me what the difference is between the Venture and Venture One? I did not realize that there were 2. Thanks!

Re: CLI with Capital One Product Change?

Venture has a $59 annual fee (after the first year) but gives you two miles per dollar.

VentureOne has no annual fee, but only gives you 1.25 miles per dollar.

Have you thought about app'ing for the card, instead of a PC? You're going to miss out on the signup bonus if you PC.

On the Venture it's 40,000 miles for spending $3,000 in 3 months. On the VentureOne it's 20,000 miles for spending $1,000 in 3 months.
