CLIs on HSBC cards since CAPONE Take Over

Since my apps today totally bomb-bombed, I thought maybe I'd call in to CapOne/HSBC to see if I could get a CLI.

Has anyone had any luck getting one without a credit pull? Card is six months old and PIF'd every month.

Thanks.

That sounds encouraging...not much but better than nothing!

Re: CLIs on HSBC cards since CAPONE Take Over

well i did a cli before i even paid down the debt.

was carrying 2100 of 2500 and did cli.

was a soft pull.

but was denied to due high utilization and a score of 615(not mine apperantly my mothers)

this card does not even show as an inquiry on my reports. (weird since i applied first without her and got a denial.) but instantly re applied with her co signing.

from what i have read from this forum.

even though capone took it over it still follows the guidelines of hsbc. so its not a hard pull.

Re: CLIs on HSBC cards since CAPONE Take Over

Never once received a CLI on my HSBC/Cap1 and axed it after having it for ~17mths....each time they checked it was a HP for me.

The only CLI i have gotten on my Cap1 was $250 after the 7th statement cut, and its nearly 2yrs old now. Each time for them to check was a HP as well.

YMMV, but be sure that if they check that it won't be a HP and make sure they know what they're talking about as well. I was told by a HSBC rep that it would just be a SP but it showed up as a HP and i called about it and they said, "sorry, our mistake, but there's nothing to do now" Thats when i decided to just axe it.

Learning from my past and rebuilding..

Re: CLIs on HSBC cards since CAPONE Take Over

I just can't see my self app'ing for any card owned by CapOne again, I have 2x CapOne credit cards and had 2x hsbc cards now owned by Capone (both of these were closed, wasn't going to pay for AF's and they made no effort to retain me). With all the rumors and misinformation about store cards and CapOne not worth it. No idea if or timing of CLI's who wants to get a $250 store card that remains that way for 5 years, and perhaps even locked out of the VISA/MC versions because I have 2x CapOne cards, plus submit my self to 3x HP's to get the card, its just easier to pull out my Chase Freedom or AMEX blue, earn points or just shop somewhere else.

Not even sure why CapOne bought HSBC,according to this board people are fleaing from CapOne in droves, and they aren't even trying to keep them. CapOne seems to count HSBC MC cards as part of the CapOne 2x card maximum, they could of just removed the 2x card limits and get a 50% more cards and not pay billions for HSBC's portfolio.  But there are always new people flocking to subprime.  So I'm still trying to figure out CapOne's business model, they want excellent people for there prime cards but rarely ever graduate rebuilder cards to the good ones. They don't even reward people for doing the right thing, autoCLI's are extremely rare after the first year, customter initiated CLI's fail 99% of the time. I think they would like all there rebuilder cards to screw up so they can make more money on fees and higher interest rates.

Re: CLIs on HSBC cards since CAPONE Take Over

I applied for CLI online several months ago.    It said what for reply.   Nothing ever happened.   It is like they lost the request.

Current online request asks for permission to pull CR, so I am skepitcal that is still a SP.
