Re: CSP $400 bonus second time?

Right but theres a very clearly stated policy. If you have recieved the bonus within 24 months, which OP has, you wont get it again. He wouldnt have recieved it in July 2013, it would have been at the very least on the next statement. So it has been close but not quite 24 months.

I think what is meant by silly is that really, in the grand scheme, even 400 bucks is not that much money vs ruining your reputation with an issuer. Anyone who thinks they don't or cant track these things has their head in the sand. Now whether one cares or not what chase thinks is another story. But you're milking them for THEIR bonus money so you could respectfully decide not to churn their products. Its a personal choice as always though.

If OP does want the bonus again, they need to wait longer

It's not only declined. He could be blacklisted. But if a silly sign up bonus is worth it, then go for it.

Come on now.  He's not going to be blacklisted for applying for the card again.  Chase implemented the 24 month rule to set the limit where they feel comfortable in giving it out again.  Let's not over state the issue here.  And the bonus is not worth just $400.  It's 40K points which is worth about twice that if used properly.

Re: CSP $400 bonus second time?

My apologies. I guess I'm not too worried about churning silly (yes, very small) sign up bonuses enough to make a thread about when is the minimum I can apply. And maybe not the first or 2nd churn but Chase tracks it and you're naive if you think you can't be blacklisted for it. There are a few churners on FlyerTalk that have been.

If you're hurting for points/ bonuses so much why not just MS?

I read FT as much as the next person.  People aren't being closed out for applying for a 2nd CSP 2 years later.

If you read FT as well as you read my post then I'm not surprised you don't see it. I said maybe not the first or 2nd churn.

I read it and the OP is not doing multiples.  He can apply for the 2nd CSP and have no problems.

Re: CSP $400 bonus second time?

I'm usually a rule follower, so if it says to wait 24 months, then I would wait 24 months. Especially if you really want the sign up bonus again. I would probably wait 26-28 months to ensure enough time has passed, but that's me. I tend to be conservative when it comes to credit. Good luck!!!

His profile says he's been gardening in 2014. He may not even be eligible if he's had 5 accounts in 2 years.

That could very well be true

Re: CSP $400 bonus second time?

Right the 5 account in 2 years thing must be considered also.

Its not really about being conservative or not here. Chase simply won't pay you the bonus if you got it in the last 24 months. Trying before then is a waste of time.
