Hi folks,
So what is the standard that people are using these days to meet the minimums on their cards for the bonuses?
I have the classic bills each month: auto loan, school loan, rent/utilities, medical....but how/what is the best way to pay these while reaping reward points/minimum spend?

Basically all of that. There is an angle to most shapes and sizes and ultimately if you get back more than what you put in plus time for your effort then you are doing splendidly.
Ok cool, but let me elaborate a bit...
I am trying to figure out how to pay, for instance, my rent, which will be paid to a person, not an institution.
What's the strategy people are doing nowadays to make sure that they can use their credit card to pay individuals, while having a low fee/not counting as a cash line?

Your landlord has a paypal?
No she doesn't accept Credit Cards. Is there a way I can turn my money into a check using some sort of third party?

Balance transfer checks, but those do not earn rewards or help meet spend. Perhaps open a bank account with a bank that allows funding with a CC and is known not to trigger Cash Advance mode.
For rent, there are a whole slew of sites (e.g. radpad) who let you pay rent with a credit card, for a fee of 2.5% or more. For meeting minimum spend, this may be worth it (but usually not to be used for day to day rewards as the fee eats a big chunk, if not all). Then there are things like Bluebird/Serve/Redbird which can be used for those feeling more creative.
