Ahh I just opened a checking acct today then read about the $200 coupon. Can I get that from USPS still and take it into a branch or am I a big dummy!!???
So the trifecta is still awesome?
Hmm, not sure, tbh...I would try calling them tomorrow or sending a secured message asking! Btw, I have an extra coupon on me, so if they will accept the coupon code via secured message, you're free to use mine that I can send in a PM when you get the okay!
And hey, 10% annual bonus for a no annual fee, 5x rotating category card? Hellz yeah XD

True! Thank you I will call tomorrow! !! I dont think I qualify for their cards yet though
You would be borderline for approval, based on your scores! Peronally, I would wait until you get more into the 680+ to minimize reconning, but if you have no problem with it, then go for it XD you have a great collection of cards, so your scores can only go up from here!
Also, when you opened your account, did your banker let you know you had prequalified offers? I already have Freedom and Sapphire, so I'm guessing the one I got was Slate...politely declined on that one
If not, try your shot on the prequalifed Chase cards button on their website...you never know!

Do you have to go to a branch to get the $200 bonus? I don't have a chase near me as I live in NC
Nope! You can use the bonus online to open the account

@dddfresh wrote:does this still work? or has some of it expired etc? Thank you! Im saving this to my favorites for a goal for this year!!
In a modified, version, yes; the 10 extra bonus points per transaction is now gone, but the 10% annual bonus is still around
i opened up a Chase checking account this past weekend using my refunded deposit for my Orchard secured, plus used my $200 coupon they kept sending me!
Even tho the thread is a little bit old, this is a great question. Something that I have wondered since I recently joined Chase at the beginning of the year.
If the 10+ bonus points per transaction is gone.. does anybod know if that means the CSP is better for restaurants & travel than the Freedom except when in 5% for restaurants? & If the 10% annual bonus is only for one year or it is continuous as long as accounts are open?

Its nice too see someone dug up my old thread. I spent so much time on the calculations, writing the post, then editing several times. It's my greatest contribution back to myfico for all I've learned here.
To clarify the 10+ bonus points per swipe is now GONE! Has been since november 2012. Cardmembers prior to that get grandfathered in (at least for now).
@dddfresh - Yes the trifect is still awesome! Just a little less awesome than it was before november 2012.
@ agent_bob - 10% annual bonus is continuous as long as accounts are open. And yes, CSP > Freedom on restauarants & travel except when these are quarterly 5% bonus catagories for Freedom. *Unless you have the grandfathered 10&10, there is an exception to this rule, please refer to OP.
@Anonymous family - Because the 10+ bonus swipe is now gone, I will EDIT the OP soon. But it will only be an addition, as I will keep the original post intact for those who have the granfathered 10&10 program.
Thanks myfico for reading this thread!
I was looking for this thread when I posted about wanting to apply for the CSP.
Those of us grandfathered in seem to have it until the end of 2013. I've yet to read anything concrete about it, but I don't doubt that's the case.
Still, being able to transfer UR points freely is a huge plus.
