I have a second card but only because they messed up when they sent me card initially. One came thru regular snail mail and another can via ups
Try asking for a card with a chip. there are various kinda of chips available these days, so if they ask if you meant the xyz chip, you say Yep, thats the one!
If the card gets lost or stolen you need a new account number...so they rushed you a card with a new account number ? Linked to the same account ? Both still open? Twice the same card would be useless if lost or stolen as you have to block the account anyhow
