CSP PC options

In a year's time, I will need to do this. Is it possible to PC to Freedom? Or downgrade to Sapphire and then PC to Freedom?

My current CSP has a 15.99 APR vs my Freedom's 22.99. The end goal (for now) is to have a Freedom at 15.99%.

Thoughts?

PC policies may fluctuate from time to time so as you approach that timeframe, contact Chase to see what options would be available.  No one here can guarantee for sure what prodcut you're definitely going to qualify for.  Currently, the Sapphire is no longer available to apply directly so whether you can downgrade to CS or PC to Freedom at that point is anyone's guess.

Actually, you kinda just stumbled onto my Idea. If they keep nerfing the CSP, I was planning on downgrading it to a Freedom, then roll my new freedom into it -- The question indeed is if they'd let me keep the 15.99% Smiley Happy

Re: CSP PC options

High five Nixon!

MY AAoA will take a hit though. I just got a Thank You Preferred at 12.99% for the same reason. Double Cash sits at 17.99. Ill inquire about reducing it. If they can match it, I will close the TYP. If not, I will PC TYP to Double Cash and hopefully be able to conslidate current DC line. From the looks of it, it's fairly easy, albeit thru EO. Hopefully in a years time it is common practice.

Back on topic though, I hope I can downgrade CSP to Freedom in the future, or have them match the 15.99%

Off topic:

Does anybody have a Citi Backdoor Number that isnt App Approval or new app status etc? It seems like all the stick numbers are all for those. I don't really wanna bug the EO with minor issues that regular CSR's are supposed to answer and they may cut us off completely and we cant contact them at all!

Re: CSP PC options

OP I'm not sure about PC'ing to Freedom. I literally just got off the phone from PC'ing my CSP to the regular CS and it's only been open for about 2 months. Only requirement was that I had to increase the CL from $800 to $5000. That could be accomplished by either requesting a new CL or moving CL from another card to the CSP. So I took the latter option then rep tried again and PC was successful.

Not sure how much longer they will allow PC'ing to a CS as it is no longer available to be applied for. May want to drop down to regular CS now.

I also opened up a new Freedom account Monday for the $200 CB bonus on $500 spend. Didn't want to PC to a Freedom because then I wouldn't have received that bonus.

I am pretty sure he took some of the credit limit from it in the first place and reallocated it elsewhere.

Now they are saying that in order to PC, he must have it at 5K again.

That was exactly the case. I was approved at like 12K moved the balance to my IHG card then to do the PC I needed to move some CL back to the CSP to get it to the 5K minimum to do the PC.
