CSP Signup Bonus

Since I already have the Freedom, does that preclude me from getting the CSP bonus?

No, why would you think that?

@09Lexie, lets please remember forum etiquette and be respectful of the fact that no question here is a dumb question! We all have questions, that's why we're here. 😉

Where did Lexie say it was a dumb question. She answered and then followed up with a question to find out information. How is that disrespectful?

Well, I have two cards with Amex, and their bonus policy for cardmembers is as follows, "If we identify you as currently having an American Express® Card account, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer."

Think that is also by card type.  I app'd for the Delta Gold SkyMiles card and received the bonus even though I have the BCP.  Also, upgraded my Gold to Platinum and have the 50K for $5K spend bonus working.  If I closed one and then reapplied I don't think I would receive a bonus.

Okay that's good to know. I was looking forward to those 30K miles.

Not sure. I was approved for a second Amex and it didn't show any signup bonus when logged in to my account and applying versus using a cookie-free browser. It didn't show a sign up bonus for any card that I looked at, so I assumed it wasn't possible with Amex.

Then again my sister got 2 bonuses, 1 each for PRG and Blue Sky. Those were targeted in the mail and she applied within a week of each other, so not sure what to make.

Definitely don't just rely on assumption with a given creditor based on another creditor as policies vary.

Chase's wording is a bit vague:

https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/sapphire-preferred-card.aspx?freedomsplit=2&CELL=63WS

This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer.

But by "cardmember" they mean "CSP cardmember".  I've received sign up bonuses on all 4 of my Chase cards.
