Hello,
I have heard you might be able to help me with this as I'm not sure where else to go.I would like my Capital one Platinum credit card changed to Capital One Quicksilver Rewards. I have built my credit extensively since I first applied for capital one platinum and want a better card with my better credit. I also would like a credit line increase from the 750 something higher. I have recently been approved much higher by another bank. If this can't be done, I will probably close out my account.Thank you.My name is XXX XXX (DOB X/X/XX XXXXXXX, FL) and please let me know anything you need to verify my information to prove my identity. It's little surreal to have over $20,000 of open credit in matter of an hour. Hopefully this isn't an april fools and you guys aren't effing with me to ruin my credit LOL.
No april fool's. Just give it time and see what they say.
Converting the capital one can be useful, especially since in its non AF form it has features like a moderate cash back across the board and no FTF if I recall correctly

My wife thinks I'm crazy for applying to 3 credit cards. Hopefully I can prove her wrong when we have some nice cash back at the end of the year.
Crazy is if you don't jettison the credit One, and the cap one if it doesn't get the AF removed and hiked limit. Also after these new accounts age a bit, might want to work on that citi card for a CLI, even though it will definitely be an HP.. Higher limits beget higher limits but let these new accounts stew for a bit /garden 6+ months before taking on some HP hits. The idea isn't a boatload of credit, but to have options as well as being able to use it while keeping utilization low

Credit one is gone. they offered my 18.99% for the next 6 months to keep me LMAO.
I hear ya on that... that's why I keep saying 'open credit' my wife will have to understand. I just told her to trust me on this one. Let's see if anyone replies from that capital one email. if not i'll drop them too...
so explain this to me if you can. This is my current AAoA
Average Account Age 5Yrs3
MosOldest Open Account 10 Yrs 6 Mos
Newest Open Account 0 Yrs 5 Mos
I think I've had capital one since 2/11 and credit one 6/11. Now once these 3 new cards come in, I suppose my average account age is going to take a big hit? correct? but once they post and my utilization goes from my current 15,000 to nearly double that, I should see a huge increase in my credit? or am I missing something?
Not really due to cancelling because they affect your aaoa for 10 years after they are closed.. But you are adding new accounts so there will be a change... But the major change will be util, and in your favor

Now that the Credit one is gone, it is a little bit like removing a scarlet letter from your credit report..it did it's job, but esp on manual review it didn't look great having it open.. Sort of a unwarranted false stigma is gone from your report by it being closed by you

Yeah, I see what you mean. manual review will show that it's a beginner credit card and still open. It now will show closed, indicating a new chapter of better credit I hope.
Thanks for the help everyone... let's see what capital one does. I don't see the point of having that one anymore, but oh well.
We'll see what the change brings. We have very small util on our cards. I'd say maybe 10% utilized.
