@Anonymous wrote:First Post! Hello everyone! I've recently been awaken to the world of credit cards and benefits of having them.I'd like to start saving points for travel and I know the CSP is one of the better options for credt cards in regards travel rewards but I'm a bit worried I'm not going to be approved for it and I'll have another hp on my record. Here's a rundown of my situation:
4 hard pulls (2 w/ chase, 1 student loan, 1 apartment)
3 delinquents w/ student loans (2011-2012) - All student loans are current now
Chase Freedom $1000 October last year (Also applied for a SW card later in the same month but was denied)
BoA graduated secured card $500
AAoA is 6.3 years
Credit utilization is 0% this month but I kept it around 30% for the past couple of months.

TU - 716

I know the CSP has a minimum CL of $5000 and I currently don't have that yet so is there a chance they'd approve me? I'd love some advice on what I should do or if there are other good travel card recomendations. I just picked Chase cause I'm already saving UR with the Freedom but I'm open to other rewards programs.
there is nothing wrong with a csp, you end up with 59K with the add of an au and the $4K spend. can you meet the spend in 3 months is the first question. a nearly sure fire way to see your chances is to go into a branch and see if there is a pre-approval there waiting for you. if yes then I would give it a shot. the csr has 2x the pts until 3/11 but that would probably be a long shot
I'd ultimately want to get the CSR but I know it is a long shot.. I would definitely be able to spend the 4K in bills and rent + everyday expenditures. Thanks for the advice!
I am big on pre-approvals when available and reliable like chase and cap1. I will only app in a branch with chase but I am in 90210 where there is a chase every 200' The 100K for chase is only around for 2 weeks more but there will be other opps for you in the future.
Did you check online with chase?

I've done the Chase online pre-approval but got nothing.. I think it has to do with me not being opted in for prescreened offers. Is the Chase online pre-approved offer different from the in branch one? I live in Chicago and have a Chase branch 5 minutes away. I'll probably head into there later today. Also, since I'm going to have a hp with the csp app should I just go ahead and apply for the freedom unlimited and csr while I'm at it? It wouldn't hurt right?

it sure was for me. on line nothing for me, branch the world - I even have a csp that I used as a burner a few weeks ago. I would only do the csp and pc to the fu at this time, there is no guarantee they will combine hp's and you also may get a double tap with tu assuming they hit your ex. off topic I was born on the same floor where the one armed man got his arm at CCH lol
OP, I tried the Chase Pre-Approval site many times and never got it to work. Then I cold apped for the CSP and got an instant approval so I dont put much stock in it..
However, I would second someone else's advice and walk into a branch and see what they say you have.

I never got much online however I got it all at the branch and I took it lol. the branch is the ticket imo. only get the csp, you can pc to the fu. no guarantee that multiple cards will only result in a single hp and you might also get a double tap, that is not uncommon. I am from glencoe, born in cch on the same floor the one arm mans got his arm
Glencoe is nice!
I just went into a nearby branch, no preapproved offer
Go for it! I was approved for the CSP in December with similar scores. My income is over 100K so that may have added to my applicant file.
Your consumer profile does not appear to have excessive inquiries so I say app! Trust me CSP is the best travel rewards card around.
Good Luck!!

Whoa, that is amazing - very happy for you! so odd that the pre-app did not show up but there are a lot of factors at play - so much for datapoints. when you pc the f to the fu I would call not sm but that is just me. you should like the sapphire csrs, total pros. do the pc via one of them. (800) 493-3319. well done!!
Is there benefit to the FU over the F? I feel like the 5% rotating categories is a great perk and the categories have been relevant to my purchases. I figured all of my non category purchases will be on the CSP anyway.. I just wanted to apply for the FU for the sign up bonus.
