CSP to CSR product change - pull/criteria?

Hi folks -

CSP anniversary next week. Scores are significantly higher than a year ago. The only items worse in my profile are INQs and AAoA (in my signature). In the context of a CSP to CSR product change request, would Chase care about any of that?

Also, assuming that I'm okay with an inquiry, would it be an opportune time to request a CLI?

2025 Goal: save 3 months' net income

Starting FICO8: 666 (give or take a FICO)
[ Last INQ 12-Feb-2024 ]
EQ8502 INQ (Auto, Mort)7y4m
EX8506 INQ (2 CC, 2 mort, 2 auto)7y
TU8501 INQ (CC)6y8m
3/241/12AoYA 10m | AoOA 24y2m~1%

Yeah, FICO 9 is 850 as well. Smiley Happy

I don't know the anwser, I just want to tag on one question:

if after 1 year with CSP, I am still at 5/24, will Chase do PC to CSR?

My understanding is 'yes', since it's a product change, not a new account / line of credit, and there's no SUB.

I would say you should be fine for doing a CLI but also, I would update the income portion in Chase's website. I would see if you can do the CLI and then request a PC to CSR. Keep in mind, you won't get any SUBs. I believe the CSR has a minimum 5k/10k requirement as well. (correct me if I'm wrong).

Re: CSP to CSR product change - pull/criteria?

The only requirement is that your CSP have a credit limit of at least $10,000, which is the minimum for a CSR. The upgrade is pretty seemless from there. You even keep the same card number.

If you don't have $10k on the CSP, you'll have to ask for a CLI first or reallocate available credit from any other Chase cards you may have. Or, since Chase isn't known for granting generous limit increases, you can do what I did and apply for a new card, immediately call in to cancel it and reallocate the new limit to the CSP. More bang for the HP, in my opinion.

I Have Way Too Many of These.

American Express - No CLI or Appreciation Gift in 7 Years

Citibank - Handing Out Credit Limits Like Candy

Chase - Surprisingly, Still Tolerating My Credit-Chasing Ways

Bank of America - My Newest Bae.

Everyone Else.

Chase: Freedom U Visa Signature, CSR Visa Infinite

Credit Union: Cash Back Visa Signature
FICO 08: Score decrease between 26-41 points after auto payoff (11.01.21) FICO as of 12.24, EX: 813 / EQ: 825 / TU: 818

Why cancel it immediately? It would seem more practical, for anyone who spends and travels enough to get a CSR/CSP, to meet the minimum spend on the new card and get the bonus...and then perhaps reallocate some CL or close the new card.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

Re: CSP to CSR product change - pull/criteria?

In my case, I'm 8/24 (8/12, more accurately), and will not qualify for a new Chase card 'til at least a year from now -- but it makes sense to upgrade to CSR as soon as I'm able. And, if memory serves, I don't believe I could get a SUB on a second Sapphire product anyway.

You are correct that you will not be eligible for a SUB, so your best bet is to do a product change.
