This might be a repost since I found out a few weeks ago (haven't been very active here), but the Chase Sapphire Preferred card will be getting EMV chips soon. The roll out will likely happen next month. Just a heads up since I know a lot of people have been waiting for it.

Thanks for the heads up bribro. I believe someone mentioned it a while back, but it wasn't confirmed. Just found out a week ago as well.

Thank you for the heads up! Great timing for me, since I am going to start traveling later next year.

I think creditscholar was the one who first posted about the CSP getting EMV sometime at the end of the year.
Do you know if users will be switched over to the EMV version automatically, or will they be switched only if they were to ask for it?
Thanks for the update!
I would think it would be by request only, I don't think they will send out automatic replacements for everyone with the EMV chip.
Thanks for the heads up.
I may be one of the few that will probably not request a chipped CSP.
I feel like it'll alter the overall aesthetics of such a beautiful card IMO.
A chip and wire antenna. Added to a Metal card?
Someone ask Mr Faraday how that is gonna work.

Should work great. My Ritz-Carlton Rewards card is solid metal (unlike the CSP) and has a chip. I use it all the time.
Personally, I'm delighted that CSP will finally have an EMV chip. It seems odd that it doesn't have one, since it's otherwise so well designed for travelers.
Doesnt the chip just take a CC to a whole different level? Ive never seen one but now that Im working as a receptionist for a hotel Im seeing some pretty cool CCs, Havent seen a card with a chip yet which Im sure I will pretty soon.
