Ooo I'm glad I stopped by here before I contacted Chase to replace my CSP....the plastic on the front is starting to peel off. I think I'll wait a couple of months now
It's nice to get one with EMV. I should have called them since I just approved CSP.
This is good to know. I regularly travel through the ME/Europe on both business and pleasure, and the CSP is my go-to. An EMV chip makes it that much better.

No antenna, It's EMV. Card has to be inserted into a reader. Reader uses the contacts on the card.

Guess it depends on what you mean by "a whole different level".
It's going to be interesting to see if the design of the card changes at all.
ANY card with no ForEx fees should have some kind of chip (chip & sig or chip & pin).
Hopefully this rolls out to all other no FTF cards.
thanks for the heads up. No CSP yet, but soon to be next year (after mortgage)!
@Anonymous wrote:This might be a repost since I found out a few weeks ago (haven't been very active here), but the Chase Sapphire Preferred card will be getting EMV chips soon. The roll out will likely happen next month. Just a heads up since I know a lot of people have been waiting for it.
btw, what is the source of this? j/w...

Someone ask Mr Faraday how that is gonna work.
As was said above me, no antenna is likely. However, to clarify it's NOT because it's EMV. Dual-interface EMV (contact and contactless) is absolutely possible, VERY rare in the US (contactless in any form is rare here, for that matter) but common in other countries. It's because it's going to be contact-only EMV. Subtle, but key, difference. I hope we start seeing more dual-interface cards here...
