Re: CSP?

Yes, you are able to have both if you'd like. IMO I would app for the CSP and then PC the CS to Freedom.

Edit: just saw your sig and it looks like you have freedom already so you can keep the CS or you can close it and have that CL added to the new CSP.

CHASE FREEDOM | AMEX BCE | | BOFA REWARDS | CITI TYP | Quicksilver | DISCOVER IT | Sallie Mae | CHASE CSP
--------$32,000-------------$30,000-----------$30,000-----------$30,000-----$13,000---------$18,200----------$15,000---------$6,500----

Well  I already have the freedom $3,500. If I can have the CS and CSP then i would just keep those and probably close my Amazon Visa next year

I definitely would close the Amazon if your not using it.  Depending on the limit of the CSP I would transfer the CL on the CS and transfer some to the Freedom to get it to 5k and then make it a VS.  Transfer the rest to the CSP and close the CS.  Why have both?

I apped for the Amazon Visa card since it was a Visa and the only cards I had at the time was a Store card, Amex and Dsicover and 1 or 2 places i regularly spend money at only takes Mastercard/Visa.

As far as keeping both why not? CS has no AF and can always sock drawer it

I don't recommend doing this because the OP will loose out on a very good Freedom bonus of $200 or 20,000 UR points (which can be worth more if transfered to CSP) for $500 spend.

I actually don't know if you can I thought I have seen people with both in their siggy.

I know this is all hypothetical bcause you said you are thinking about it for next year.

The reason I said I wouldn't keep both is because if you already have the CSP there is nothing that the CSP can't give you that the CS could not like other cards that cap the categories ex. US Bank Cash + or Sallie Mae for the 5% so that is why a lot of people have two cards from the same CCC.  Whereas the categories you get 2x or 3x with on the CSP are uncapped.  Plus you move the CL over so you profile shows more cards that have over 5k limits and the Freedom could become the VS.

Of course this is saying that you can make the spend on the CSP like you said in other posts.   Of course I don't know what your Annual income is or what will change in your current spending habits from this year to next.  Only you know the answer to that.

I am assuming I can make the CSP spending for the bonus most likely next year. This year I already have 5 new cards 4 with bonuses that i am going to get with.

$500 on the Freedom

$500 on the Chase sapphire

$1,500 on the Citi thank you card

$1000 on the Amex Everyday card

I could hit the $3k on the CSP but not now with those cards already with those bonuses

See I didn't think of Apping for the CS till the tail end of my app spree and very well thought I would even get declined for the Chase Sapphire. since i got approved for the Chase sapphire I don't see any reason why i won't get accepted next year witht he CSP. Of couse this assumes I don't file for BK or have any baddies
