CSP?

Hi, I've been gardening for almost a year, preparing to apply for the CSP. I fly 5-6 times a year, and stay in a hotel 4+ nights a year. I was planning on applying in April once my Discover cashback match ends, but since I'll be paying tuition in 2 weeks, I figured it'll be very easy to get the SUB, since I do not spend $4k in a 3 month basis usually. I will also be making this same payment in November, making the SUB easy to get, and can apply then as well, but really would like the card sooner than later since I'll have a lot of travel and restaurant spend over the summer. Here are my stats:

FICO's: EX (2) 745, TU (3) 749

Income = ~$57k

1% utilization, no baddies

Oldest acct = 20 mo, AAoA = 16 mo

(6/16) CapOne QS @ $1.35k CL, 1% util

(9/16) Deferred Student Loan @ $6.5k, 98% util

(1/17) AMEX BCP @ $9k CL, 0% util

(3/17) Discover It @ $2.6k CL, 0% util

I will be asking for another CLI with Discover in 2 days, as well as one with AMEX in 2 weeks (to $15k-$20k).

I have no in-branch or online prequalifications; nothing on Chase Credit Journey either. If I were to cold-app in a week or so, what do you think my chances would be to being approved? My worry is my short credit history.

Re: CSP?

You need to fix your signature images, those are annoying on mobile.

Re: CSP?

I believe you're fine to cold-app if you wanted to. Your short history isn't a concern since your AAoA is over a year old and have 4 cards showing good limits. Should be solid.

Re: CSP?

It looks like you currently have 3 credit cards and while all of their utilization is 1% or so, you have balances on all 3 cards.  While this may only be dinging your scores 10 points or so, I always believe it's best to position yourself in the best light prior to any app.  That being said, I would let 2 of those cards report $0 first.  You already have some slight reservations based on age of accounts, so eliminating any other minor things you can tweak such as "number of cards with balances" could be a bigger deal than would otherwise be the case.  That's what I'd suggest anyway.  Aside from that, I think you'll get approved and it sounds like you've got a good plan to snag that $500.

Re: CSP?

I made a mistake by putting <1% on utilization. I currently only let a small balance ~$5 report on one card, and $0 on the other two. I just didn't put that in the main post. So I am currently utilizing AZEO.

Re: CSP?

You're looking good. If you had an account with Chase with direct deposit going into it, you could probably go into a branch and apply for both the CSP and the Freedom at the same time and get approved. You would also get an extra 10K points on the CSP.

Re: CSP?

I applied in-branch for the CSP last year and did not get an extra 10k points.  Is this something new?  At the time I applied in-branch the SUB was 50k points if applying online and 50k points in-branch with the possibility of 70k points in-branch if you had a targeted offer.  The only reason I went in-branch was for the chance at that 70k, but no offer for me, so it was just 50k. I'm curious about the details of this extra 10k points though?

Re: CSP?

APPROVED for $11.4k! My highest CL was AMEX at $9k. This is unbelievable!

Re: CSP?

Congrats on the approval!

Chase and their XX,400 limits.  I got one of those too.  They have got to be the worst when it comes to messing with people's OCD with their oddball end to limits!
