CSR: CL/AF trick?

Hi all

Do we have any DPs on whether the CL trick works on the CSR AF?

Thank you.

Re: CSR: CL/AF trick?

Lowering the CL refunds the AF. (As was the case with the Ritz card)

Never heard of that. This is a travel card so the higher the CL the better, IMHO.

Re: CSR: CL/AF trick?

I know what OP is talking about and im pretty sure it's something that myfico does not support.

There was a previous long time poster who is since gone from here but I remember him doing this with the Ritz card.

Tread cautiously because the banks are not letting people get away with a lot like in prior days.

Re: CSR: CL/AF trick?

IMO these "tricks" cause Chase and other banks to nerf and or implement things like the 5x24 rule.  Such as the 140k point bonus going away on the Ritz and has not been offered again partially due to this "trick".

I am not sure if this works on the CSR, but if I were you I would tread very carefully if you were to try this as they will just look for a reason to close ones accounts as quite frankly banks are getting sick of being taken advantage of and one of these ways is lowering your CL and causing the CARD act to take effect thus causing them to refund one that AF.

The AF's exist for a reason as you are getting 300 in travel credits alone plus many other perks such as primary rental car insurance, etc.

I personally don't support this although not sure if it is against talking about on MF or violates the TOS of the forum.  If you have doubts if it might then most likely you should search on other forums that might yield the information you seek.
